Adaptability and Stability of Irrigated Barley Genotypes in the Cerrado of the Federal District
1. Introduction The Cerrado Biome, located on Brazil’s Central Plateau, is considered the world’s agricultural frontier and has immense potential, as it is almost entirely mechanized. The region is essential for food production and is considered the largest producer of grains and responsible for a large part of Brazil’s total cereal production. With the development of technologies adapted to the region, new species such as quinoa, sunflower, and barley have been explored in the Cerrado.
Dimethyl fumarate suppresses granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor-producing Th1 cells in CNS neuroinflammation
Abstract Objective To study the immunomodulatory effect of dimethyl fumarate (DF) on granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) production in CD4+ T cells in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) and human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Methods We collected splenocytes and CD4+ T cells from C57BL/6 wild-type and interferon (IFN)-γ–deficient mice.
IL-9 Controls Central Nervous System Autoimmunity by Suppressing GM-CSF Production

IL-9R−/− DCs induce GM-CSF in CD4+ T cells and contribute to disease worsening.

Chloroquine‐treated dendritic cells require STAT1 signaling for their tolerogenic activity
MS and EAE are T cell‐driven autoimmune diseases of the CNS where IL‐17‐producing Th17 cells promote damage and are pathogenic. Conversely, tolerogenic DCs induce Treg cells and suppress Th17 cells. Chloroquine (CQ) suppresses EAE through the modulation of DCs by unknown mechanisms. Here, we show that STAT 1 is necessary for CQ‐induced tolerogenic DCs (tolDCs) to efficiently suppress EAE. We observed that CQ induces phosphorylation of STAT1 in DCs in vivo and in vitro.

Severe Changes in Thymic Microenvironment in a Chronic Experimental Model of Paracoccidioidomycosis
T cell maturation takes place within the thymus, a primary lymphoid organ that is commonly targeted during infections. Previous studies showed that acute infection with Paracoccidioides brasiliensis (Pb), the causative agent of paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM), promotes thymic atrophy that is associated with the presence of yeast cells in the organ.
