Roger Hoit’s Biography

Roger Hoit serves as a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, where his expertise in strategic advisory services is invaluable to financial sponsor clients. With a career spanning over two decades, his proficiency in investment banking is well-documented through his involvement in a broad range of corporate finance activities. These include mergers and acquisitions (M&A), leveraged buyouts, as well as equity and debt financing, complemented by advisory on capital structures.

As the leader of the Private Equity Solutions Group at Moelis & Company, Roger works closely with a distinguished clientele. This group comprises some of the most prominent entities in Private Equity, Alternative Asset Management, and Family Offices globally. Operating from the firm's office in West Palm Beach, Florida, his career prior to Moelis & Company includes significant roles. He was a pivotal figure at Morgan Stanley within the Global Financial Sponsors Group. Before that, he held managing director positions at SG Cowen (a division of Société Générale) and Gleacher & Co.

He embarked on his illustrious career at PaineWebber Incorporated after graduating with a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College, laying the foundation for his future accomplishments in the financial sector.

Apart from his financial career, Hoit is also celebrated for his exceptional skills in amateur golf. He has left his mark on both national and international golfing circuits, having qualified for more than 25 National Championships under the auspices of the USGA and the Royal & Ancient. His participation includes three professional "Major Championships": the 2015 and 2019 United States Senior Open Championships and the 2017 British Senior Open Championship.

In 2022, he showcased his golfing prowess at prestigious tournaments such as the U.S. Senior Amateur at the Kittansett Club and the British Senior Amateur at Royal Dornoch Golf Club, Scotland. His recent return from South Korea marked a significant achievement when he played for the victorious United States team in The Bridges Cup. This bi-annual event sees top U.S. amateurs compete against an equally skilled International team.

Roger Hoit's golfing resume is further embellished with his participation in numerous prestigious Amateur Invitational tournaments. These include The Crump Cup at Pine Valley Golf Club, The George Thomas Invitational at LACC, and The Coleman at Seminole Golf Club, among others. His competitive spirit and skill have been evident across various iconic courses and tournaments, making him a distinguished figure in the amateur golfing world.
