I don't know why I saved it when the watch went kaput, but it came in handy in the end! #3 · #4 · Purchased back in 1982 /83 around Christmas so I don't remember which year, I think they were 39.99 back then.

Yeah, it is from G-shock 5610- series, and it fit right from package without any effort (i just make little adjustment with fingers). And i just order it from Ali for 3,50.

I was arguing with my friend last night. He said that regular watches aren't used for their functions any more. And that smart watches are more popular.... Hot shower
I read that you aren't supposed to take a hot shower with watch on ... They say the air inside expands and when it cools it sucks in water ... I don't agree though, I think when it expands air doesn't leave the watch, pressure just builds up inside of it, then when it cools it goes back to normal, without sucking anything in ...

I bought one of these for my niece years back. The screen is slightly narrower compare to the 5600. Looks pretty good and comes with the bull bars. Specs are a bit lower: 60min stopwatch; +/- 30sec time accuracy per month; smaller CR1616 battery.

You should point out that the opposite is actually true. Pretty much every smartwatch, computer, phone or other high-tech gadget becomes obsolete within 5 years and certainly within ten. It's those of us with mechanical watches that are still wearing them 10, 20, 30, even 50 years later that demonstrates the opposite of obsolescence. Add to that, the many who will buy a 20 to 50 year old watch and then wear it for another 20 to 30 years themselves.

218H CASIO Bull Bars...
Hey Rosti, well I don't have a 218 but even if I did, I wouldn't put BB's on it. I admit that I never have understand the concept of them, to me they just look plain ugly and why would I try to "protect" a watch that is already better protected than any other brand (G-shock, I know the 218 is not but still....) and is so cheap that it can be replaced any time without crying bitter tears? If crystal protection is the main goal, I'd rather go with a protection film as on a smartphone.

I would love it if there were collector cards for every g shock and Casio watch. I would pay for that. I can see people want to collect such cards. Casio could add a card at every purchase of a watch?I would like also (maybe it exist) a G-Shock Magazine with the latest and the greatest every quarter or so.

I found a watch I like better than the gwm5610u
So keep the gwm5610u as your digi square And keep the Casio 218h and Casio 217h just because you did like them at one time ( but keep wearing them in your rotation) and keep the SGW1000 for liking it better and as your digi round and now go find an anadig that will be the best of all worlds and those five might make you a Happy GMan. 🍀 Best Always, Celt

Good luck with thatmillions of watches produced, millions of customers, but I'm sure they'll change a 30 years out-of-date design just for you.The idosyncrasies with the f91 are there on purpose for nostalgia. F91 is a broken design in so many ways. The LED points away from the LCD screen so you can't read the digits.

Your look and body language are the first few things that will notice on you. Not your watch. If you look suspicious, then they'll going to stop you. That's the only time they will know that you are wearing an infamous watch. Which I believe will give you more delays.

Looks very similar to this nineties vintage Casio MRG-1 (the forefather to the current MrG line) I picked up recently on E bay. The large resin bezel is missing on mine as well as all other MRG-1 examples as they had a tendency to rot away but most claim it looks better without it.

2099 Calendar Expiration
I also used to wonder if my DW-5600C still keeps correct date by 2030 (the year ends on 2029 for both module 901 and 691). As well as my DW-5000(Reissue) which will end on 2039. I have a strong feeling that I am still there on those years but not 2099. So I began to compare calendars by years, future vs past. I used my DW-5600C as my reference. The year of this model starts on 1985 and ends on 2029. By the year 2030, the watch is still have correct date since 2030 has the same calendar as of 1985.
