Newcastle’s best Too Good To Go bags you won’t want to miss
Our favourite breakfast bag is from Social Bird in the city centre; with over 4.5 stars, this bag promises value of £12 for £4. Though it usually has a narrow pickup window, if you’re going to be in town, their picky-bits breakfast is ideal. If you eat before your lectures, you can still pick up a discounted drink on Too Good To Go. Newcastle have many great bubble tea options, but our favourites are Utepia Tea in China Town and Manua Cha in Grainger Market.

How have the city or its people shaped your ethos as a director? Marc Jobst: It has shaped me in immeasurable numbers of ways, really, but mostly in terms of [being] a Southerner coming to the North East and experiencing a whole different kind of life.

That’s the thing with anger, it begs to stick around: learning to forgive Newcastle
I’d set my sights on Newcastle aged 13, when pocket money and a little extra freedom meant I could catch the train to shop here, and I started getting tickets to go to gigs. In August 2023, when I opened my A-Level results and confirmed my place here, I was overjoyed. I was staying in the North East (but I was far enough to have complete autonomy) to study a subject I loved; I quickly made incredible friends, people I never would have met without coming here.

Sunderland Glass Centre closure date confirmed
The University of Sunderland, who have now managed the centre for fifteen years, say that the repairs to the building required to address structural issues would cost between £14 and £45 million - and that none of the protestors have come forward with donations. The university was advised of the cost by external specialists after a survey in 2022, who found corroded steelwork and poorly planned systems which allow water through the roof.
Ouseburn: the home of the hamper
You can source the hamper itself there, whether you want a wicker basket, a storage box, or gift wrapping. If you’re prioritising sustainability, source a vintage hamper from Bibleot Nook, Flea Circus, and The People’s Exchange. To support small, artisan businesses, try Flaura Rose, Sora Studio, and The Find. Part of the magic is that many of these items are one-of-a-kind and you can’t check the websites to see what they have in.

What happened to Leeds Festival?
What happened? A few reviews criticise the performances given, rather praising the eclectic line-up’s enthusiasm and the audiences’ energy. Something in the festival’s organisation, then, seems flawed. While Reading’s Friday tickets sold out, the same lineup’s Saturday at Leeds did not.
