1 Introduction Phenolic glycosides constitute an important and structurally diverse class of plant secondary metabolites, typically characterized by one or more sugar units linked to phenolic aglycones through O-, C-, or occasionally ester glycosidic bonds [1]. Conjugation with sugars may alter the aqueous solubility, chemical stability, membrane transport, metabolism, and biological behavior of the corresponding phenolic scaffolds.
