Rusty Tweed has been involved in real estate transactions his entire adult life, having purchased his first rental at the age of 22 in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. He was able to purchase his second rental in Toronto a few years later. Rusty eventually relocated to Los Angeles, CA in 1987, utilizing his passive income streams. Soon after arriving in Southern California, Rusty began sourcing and flipping foreclosures, and by the early 1990s crash, he had completed well over 30 real estate flips.
Rusty was first introduced to the concept of a 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchange in 2004. Rusty was working with Del Exeter, a local CPA in Monrovia, CA, at the time. Del introduced Rusty to his son Bill Exeter, who had previously served as the Head of Chicago Title Company's Exchange Division. He quickly caught up with Bill's help, who expertly guided Rusty's 1031 Exchange transactions to success.
