Junior subeditor.

Observe. Report. Inform.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Via email.

Why did you become a journalist?

I was naturally drawn to it. I tend to think in metaphors. That may have had something to do with it.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes. I served as subeditor for the school monthly magazine.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Be original.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

I like pitches that are crisp and error-free.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

The New York Times.
