Press enter or click to view image in full size Last month, I watched a $2M startup burn through their entire marketing budget in six months. Their digital marketing campaigns were flawless — perfect targeting, beautiful creative, optimized funnels. Their conversion rates? Abysmal. The problem wasn’t their tactics. It was their missing digital marketing branding strategy. The $50,000 Lesson That Changed Everything Picture this: You’re scrolling LinkedIn and see two posts about productivity software.
Digital Marketing in 2025: Redefining Strategy for a Mature Industry
Digital marketing has transitioned from being a disruptive experiment to becoming the bedrock of modern business strategy. For those of us who have witnessed its evolution — right from the era of email blasts and rudimentary banner ads to today’s AI-powered hyper-personalization — the journey has been both exhilarating and unforgiving.
Why Not Digital?
Think about the last time you searched for a product. Did you open a newspaper? Or did you pull out your phone and type it into Google? Chances are, you went digital without a second thought. Now flip the question: if your customers are already there, why isn’t your business? The Shift You Can’t Ignore For decades, traditional marketing — flyers, billboards, TV ads — did the heavy lifting. But times have changed. Today, people spend more hours scrolling social media feeds than watching television.
5013c vs. 501(c)(3): What It Means and Why It Matters for Your Nonprofit
If you’re trying to start a nonprofit, chances are you’ve come across terms like “5013c,” “501c,” “501 c 3,” and “501(c)(3)”—maybe even used them interchangeably. But while they might sound similar, only one of them is actually correct. Spoiler alert: it’s 501(c)(3). So what do these terms mean, why does it matter which one you use, and how do you get your nonprofit on the right track? Let’s break it all down. The term 501(c)(3) refers to a specific section of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.

This is our weekly newsletter on all things leveraged finance, from the latest trends to in-depth coverage, to people moves — sign up to get these updates in your inbox each week. Despite the week’s headlines, levfin investors head into Valentine’s weekend with some pep in their step. After Wednesday’s hotter-than-expected US CPI inflation print, investors have priced in fewer (and possibly no) Fed rate cuts in 2025.
European LevFin Wrap - Ignoring Trump’s trade war
This is our weekly newsletter on all things leveraged finance, from the latest trends to in-depth coverage, to people moves — sign up to get these updates in your inbox each week. And it’s 2018 all over again. Trump’s decision on Sunday evening to impose trade tariffs on the US’s closest allies triggered a wave of volatility across global financial markets, reminding investors what living under a potential trade war means.
European LevFin Wrap - A DeepSeek for yield as Engineering Group FRNs tighten
This is our weekly newsletter on all things leveraged finance, from the latest trends to in-depth coverage, to people moves — sign up to get these updates in your inbox each week. If investors were really honest with themselves, most would admit to having no clue what DeepSeek was prior to this week — but, of course, that hasn’t stopped it from dominating discussions and column inches. As covered in our reaction piece here, it has largely been a story for stocks, specifically across the pond.
European LevFin Wrap - Market reopens with repricings and refis
In the opening days of 2025, as the market stomachs a global bond selloff centred on the UK, the leveraged finance market has sprung to life with a modest wave of repricings and refinancings. “The pipeline looks slightly thinner right now — that's a reflection of lots of things happening in Q4 24 — people were pushing to get stuff done before Christmas," said a banker. We have at least five repricings in the market this week, mostly rated B and BB.

European LevFin Wrap - Will ECB doves disrupt or drive deals?
Technicals are the biggest driver for European LevFin right now; president Lagarde and co. may have accelerated that. According to Barclays FICC Research (for the week leading up to Thursday’s decision), European high yield saw the largest inflow on record since 2005. It was also the largest as a percentage of net assets since 2016.

This is our weekly newsletter on all the latest trends, breaking news, and deep-dive coverage in European leveraged finance. Explore all our market wraps here. European High Yield Q2 2024 - Cranking up the volume
News and Analysis Ryan Daniel +Matthew Hughes 15 July 2024•16 min read The market is firing again, are you ready? It’s not quite the madness of 2021, but the market is firing again, and LBOs and other new money deals are on their way back. With a busy summer ahead for high yield, we’ve taken a look at the key figures and trends in our Q2 European High Yield Report European HY companies issued €39bn in Q2 24, a 74% jump from 2023.
European LevFin Wrap - Pockets of resistance, patchy signal for Vodafone Spain?
Although not to the same extent as Rishi Sunak and co, some European LevFin deals also felt opposition.
Private credit goes back to the future… in a hybrid
News and Analysis Synne Johnsson +Ryan Daniel 1 July 2024•6 min read Private credit funds are returning to their roots amid what has been, in 2024 at least, a one-sided rivalry with the syndicated loan market. This has led direct lenders back to where they had initially made their mark — hybrid-style deals where they snap up junior debt facilities.
European LevFin Wrap - Vodafone Spain's LBO strikes ahead of French election turbulence
Market Wrap Alessandro Albano +Ryan Daniel 26 July 2024•8 min read If we needed proof that the LevFin market in Europe is running full steam ahead for the summer, then the biggest LBO in years is about as clear a signal as you could ask for. Zegona’s €5bn acquisition of Vodafone Spain landed in the syndicated markets with €3.4bn of debt split across dual currencies TLBs and bonds, a week before the French legislative election results could spark new fears across fixed income assets in the region.
European LevFin Wrap - It’s coming, loans
Market Wrap Ryan Daniel +Laura Thompson 21 June 2024•7 min read England football fans might have been bored after yesterday’s performance, but bankers and investors can’t have had the same complaint this week having been kept busy by a bullish market. Testing rollup Phenna readies private credit takeout
News and Analysis Ryan Daniel +Laura Thompson + 1 more 10 June 2024•4 min read UK-based testing company Phenna Group has left investors feeling conflicted over its £845m-equivalent dual tranche TLB (euros and sterling) and delayed draw term loan (DDTL) deal. Lenders flagged concerns such as weak cash flow due to its acquisition-heavy past, and its UK concentration, but appreciated its strong market position and high recurring sales.
European LevFin Wrap - Loans serve up feast, issuers elect to reprice

European LevFin Wrap - Not Asda’s first rodeo, loans finally saddle up
Deals came galloping back into the market this week, like horses let loose in central London (though with a little less blood — we hope).
European LevFin Wrap - Carnival lands as party resumes, MasOrange sweet execution
An inactive start to the week, with no bond or loan deals launched in Europe on Monday, suggests that issuers and banks were waiting for some fog to clear.
European LevFin Wrap - A trickle of deal flow, a stream of stressed
Market Wrap Karis Hustad +Ryan Daniel 5 April 2024•7 min read The long-awaited post-Easter deal flow is more of a trickle this week, giving those watching the primary market a bit of time to eat the last of the mini eggs (or enjoy a half term holiday). However, a stream of stressed credits is keeping investors busy after a first quarter that brought some confidence back to the leveraged finance markets — a bigger theme which we cover in our Q1 loan and bond reports.
European LevFin Wrap - Primary persists despite Altice angst
If any investors were hoping to coast through to the long weekend, they had another thing coming. Forget the Easter eggs; the levfin market is still feeling the cracks from last’s week Altice France (SFR) fallout.
European LevFin Wrap - StubHub books its spot, TK Elevator don’t let us down
Market Wrap Ryan Daniel 8 March 2024•8 min read As we finish the first full week of March, things are starting to look a bit brighter (and not just because the Euros are less than 100 days away!). If this week’s ECB decision and comments are anything to go by, we could also see further blossoming within European leveraged finance. European LevFin Wrap - Tapping brakes on primary during half term break
Market Wrap Ryan Daniel 16 February 2024•6 min read Compared to primary’s 2024 pace so far, new deal announcements have slowed a little this week, with no new high yield issues in euros. Maybe competing priorities had something to do with it. Read all our public content for free Sign up for our newsletter to read this article now We won't spam. You can unsubscribe at any time.

European LevFin Wrap - TenCate finally steps onto pitch, the (re)price is right
News and Analysis Ryan Daniel 26 January 2024•10 min read Incredibly, January still isn’t over, though it feels like a lifetime since mulled wines and mince pies. Something about the furious pace of LevFin primary has put the holidays firmly in the rearview mirror. While a sellsider agreed that things were “quite busy”, they said it still wasn’t “overwhelming”, perhaps with the blistering days of 2021 seared in the memory as perspective.
European LevFin Wrap - Primary drives off the parking lot
Market Wrap Ryan Daniel 12 January 2024•6 min read Beating yourself up because you haven’t made as much progress as you would have liked to on your New Year’s resolution? Perhaps Dry January has been slightly soggy so far or you haven’t cut down your inordinate [insert social media platform] screentime? No judgement here. In a way, it’s a similar story for European LevFin primary.
European LevFun Wrap - Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2023
Market Wrap Karis Hustad +Ryan Daniel 21 December 2023•7 min read And just like that, another year is coming to an end… While we wouldn’t let you leave for the holidays without a little levfin update, we also wanted to share some festive cheer. European LevFin Wrap - Markets wrap up, what's under the 2024 tree
Market Wrap Karis Hustad +Alessandro Albano + 1 more 15 December 2023•9 min read Could it be that we’re finally relaxing into the holiday season? The last few weeks’ flurry of late season deals have largely priced, and there’s nothing new joining the pipeline for a festive execution. But some key moves in the macro space gives us a sense of what might be shaping dealmakers’ new year’s resolutions.
European LevFin Wrap - Bulging stocking in loans, Synlab finally launched
Market Wrap Karis Hustad +Ryan Daniel 8 December 2023•7 min read Some might have expected to be winding down and exclusively scoffing on mince pies at this point in December, yet there has been an unusually large platter of levfin primary instead. A buysider said: “Some of the analysts have reached out to the syndicate desks to delay deals until next year. We’re tired.” Read all our public content for free Sign up for our newsletter to read this article now We won't spam.
European LevFin Wrap - Dash for divis but no sight of Synlab

European LevFin Wrap - All eyes on Altice amid paltry primary
Market Wrap Ryan Daniel 24 November 2023•5 min read In a week punctuated by Thanksgiving yesterday, the new issue calendar was drier than some leftover turkey breast, with only a couple of small add-ons announced. European LevFin Wrap - Bonds bounce back, EGg on your face
Market Wrap Ryan Daniel 10 November 2023•8 min read As we barrel towards the end of 2023 (and towards what might be a desolate December for primary), this week felt like a much-needed window of stability. If you’re still having trouble believing that, the mere fact that we had EHY inflows for the first time in nine weeks (the largest since July) should be reason to sit up and take notice. Clearly, leveraged finance sentiment has shifted for the better — but from a low base.
European high yield in hiding - Where are the bonds?
A lot can change in a few months. Back in August, “higher for longer” wasn’t the dominant market narrative, primary was shut as bankers lounged in swimshorts and Manchester United were playing terrible football (okay, maybe things haven’t changed that much). There was even growing optimism about a bond resurgence heading into the fourth quarter. Fast forward to the present day and we’re in a different world.
