Abstract We report on the design, simulation and test of Low Gain Avalanche Diodes (LGADs) which utilize a buried gain layer. The buried layer is formed by patterned implantation of a 50-micron thick float zone substrate wafer-bonded to a low resistivity carrier. This is then followed by epitaxial deposition of a ≈ 3 micron-thick high resistivity amplification region.

Abstract This paper presents a comprehensive review of both the theory and experimental successes of Quantum Chromodynamics, starting with its emergence as a well defined theory in 1972-73 and following developments and results up to the present day.

NYSE Euronext: Strong Moat, Solid Dividend in These Uncertain Times
Natural monopolies are, forgive the pun, a natural place to look for companies with a large moat. Large moats allow businesses to have a little more flexibility when choosing their strategies and also allow more room for errors, as competitors can’t move in as quickly. Large moat stocks are some of the most comforting places to be in this market of uncertainty. In down markets, they are usually able to expand their market share even further, taking advantage of their size or edge.

Who Benefits The Most From Cheap Oil?
Who benefits the most from cheap oil? Many cite the airline industry benefiting from lower costs, the tourism industry getting a boost from lower transportation prices or vehicle manufacturers who can peddle higher-priced gas-guzzlers to consumers. The most direct answer may be a bit simpler: India and China. With a consumption of more than 3 million barrels of oil per day, India is the fourth largest global consumer of oil in the world.
Jeremy Grantham Builds A Castle In The Sky
If you have ever read Jeremy Grantham's quarterly letters, you probably would agree that he is one of the stock market's best commentators. His firm (Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co.) consistently publishes incredibly insightful views and critiques on the markets current valuation. It was interesting then when I read that Grantham's current outlook for the market is "2250, here we come". As a notorious pessimist (that I typically agree with), a bullish stance seemed odd for him.
Vectrus Spin-Off Looks Promising
In September of last year, Vectrus Inc. (NYSE:VEC) was spun-off from Exelis Inc. (NYSE:XLS). While Exelis is a diversified conglomerate operating in the aerospace, defense, and IT sectors, Vectrus has only one operating segment focusing on infrastructure asset management and logistics. Since the spin, Exelis was bought out by Harris Corp. (NYSE:HRS) in a deal worth roughly $4.75 billion. Vectrus meanwhile has seen its share price oscillate wildly.
DreamWorks Animation Deserves To Be Heavily Shorted
With nearly 20% of the float already shorted, DreamWorks Animation (NASDAQ:DWA) is one of the more heavily shorted stocks. This high level of short interest has oscillated between 10-30% in the past year alone (source: Yahoo! Finance). Is this skepticism warranted, or is there hidden value that the shorts are missing?
Is Barracuda A Worthy Short?
Barracuda Networks (NYSE:CUDA) is one of the most shorted stocks on the planet. With over 150% of the float shorted, there is an incredibly high degree of pessimism surrounding the company. On multiple occasions over the past year, the company has had more than 100% of the shares sold short (Source: Yahoo! Finance). Based on current volumes, it would take almost four days for stocks short positions to be unwound. This would appear to set the company up for a massive potential short squeeze.
