Tell someone's story and truth. Giving voice to the voiceless.

I like to do the pitching to my editors. I write best when I bring the story to them.

Why did you become a journalist?

I love telling people's stories and giving them voices

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes, I was the sports editor.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My story and profile on Delfino Cruz, the manager of a pizza joint at our school.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Don't give up. Do right by the people you're writing for and about.

Any time

An article on Jannell Goodwin-Farley, a 51-year-old employee at our university that got her Bachelor's Degree.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

Graduate student government endorsements

Corona

Running or in the classroom.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

I'm a one trick pony. I can write in a lot of subjects.
