Opinion by Pa. 7th District congressional candidate Ryan Mackenzie: Where I stand on democracy, gerrymandering and redistricting
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... Over the last year, with mid-decade redistricting and the ability to gerrymander more efficiently, we have seen even fewer congressional districts that are true races — the nonpartisan Cook Political Report lists the 7th District as one of just 18 House Districts that are toss-ups, and likely to determine which party controls the U.S. House next year. How does representing such a district affect how you would govern?
Opinion by Pa. 7th District congressional candidate Ryan Mackenzie: Where I stand on immigration and ICE enforcement
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... Please discuss your beliefs on illegal immigration and immigration enforcement. What resources should be devoted to arresting and detaining immigrants who are in the country illegally but are going through the steps to get legal status and have committed no other crimes? What must be done after immigration enforcement actions have led to shootings and deaths of American citizens and noncitizens?

What laws do you want to see passed to prevent election fraud, and at the same time guarantee everyone who has the right to vote is able to cast a ballot? Were Lehigh Valley votes fairly recorded in 2020, or should those votes have been thrown out?

Ryan Mackenzie’s answer is below; you can find Democratic challenger Bob Brooks’ here.
Opinion by Pa. 7th District congressional candidate Ryan Mackenzie: Where I stand on affordability and cost of living

Opinion: Congress is working to help Americans face the cost of living
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... Editor’s note: As it does every year, The Morning Call asked the Lehigh Valley’s top elected leaders to look back at 2025 and look ahead at 2026. Responses are running this first week of 2026 from U.S. Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, the newly elected executives of Lehigh and Northampton counties, and the mayors of Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton.
Opinion: America needs genuine health care policy reform
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... Across our nation, the American people are getting tired of seeing health care used as a political football. They want to see real, bipartisan results. Prior to joining Congress earlier this year, I spent over a decade as a Pennsylvania state representative. In that capacity, I saw firsthand as the residents of our community got left holding the bag for Washington’s failures.
Opinion from Ryan Mackenzie: Here’s why I supported the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’
For decades, the American people have demanded action on their priorities. Instead, families watched their wages eaten up by inflation, communities strained by open borders and government waste growing unchecked. Through it all, Washington politicians ignored these problems, broke their promises and failed to deliver for the American people. Now, we’re charting a new course.
To amend the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 to require all Federal contractors to participate in the E-verify program. (H.R. 2641)
A bill must be passed by both the House and Senate in identical form and then be signed by the President to become law. Bills numbers restart every two years. That means there are other bills with the number H.R. 2641. This is the one from the 119th Congress. We recommend the following MLA-formatted citation when using the information you see here in academic work: GovTrack.us. (2025).

(More Info) To repeal the sunset provision of the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996, and for other purposes. The bill’s titles are written by its sponsor.

We flipped five seats to keep a GOP majority. Johnson helped make it possible
Over the past two years, pundits, pollsters, the media, and liberal politicians all predicted that House Republicans would lose the majority in 2024. They were proven wrong on Nov. 5, when the public gave President-elect Donald Trump and Republicans a mandate with unified control of government. As members-elect who flipped five seats and secured a Republican House, we are ready to deliver for the public.
Your View: I will not support a federal abortion ban
Editor’s Note: The Morning Call solicited Your Views from the two candidates in the congressional race for Pennsylvania’s 7th District, Democratic U.S. Rep. Susan Wild and Republican state Rep. Ryan Mackenzie. The candidates were asked to focus primarily focus on themselves, discussing what they think and how they would vote on each issue, rather than attacking each other.

Your View from Ryan Mackenzie: Stronger border security first step in solving immigration problem

Ryan Mackenzie. The candidates were asked to focus primarily focus on themselves, discussing what they think and how they would vote on each issue, rather than attacking each other.
Your View from Ryan Mackenzie: Government spending failed to help most Americans
Editor’s Note: The Morning Call solicited Your Views from the two candidates in the congressional race for Pennsylvania’s 7th District, Democratic U.S. Rep. Susan Wild and Republican state Rep. Ryan Mackenzie. The topic in today’s columns is the economy; columns on immigration, democracy, and abortion and reproductive rights are scheduled to appear over the next three days.
Election 2024 Your View by Ryan Mackenzie: My experience in Harrisburg will help me address illegal immigration, economy
Editor’s Note: The Morning Call solicited Your Views from candidates in contested primaries in the Lehigh Valley region. The three Republican candidates running for the nomination to challenge U.S. Rep. Susan Wild in November were asked to discuss what they see as they biggest issue(s) facing the 7th Congressional District and how they would approach solving the issue(s). Their responses are running this week, in alphabetical order by last name. Your Views from state House races will run next week.
Biden, Wild are playing politics with the border
Just weeks after taking office in 2018, U.S. Rep. Susan Wild joined her Democratic colleagues in the House of Representatives in shutting down the government because she refused to agree to President Donald Trump’s request for border wall funding. The end result was the longest government shutdown in history and the border wall funding was not agreed to.
Rep. Ryan Mackenzie: My Four Principles for America
I recently launched my campaign to represent Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District in Washington because we are losing our country. For far too long, politicians have been saying one thing to get elected, and doing another thing when they get into office — that’s not how the system should work. Right now, the Lehigh Valley is represented by a radical, progressive Democrat. Susan Wild campaigns as a moderate, but her liberal voting record tells a very different story.
The state should make these tax changes to help people deal with inflation
A basic definition of inflation is “a general increase in prices and fall in the purchasing value of money.” Right now, inflation seems to be out of control, forcing many Pennsylvania families living paycheck to paycheck to make difficult spending decisions to stretch every available dollar. There are several main causes of the high inflation rate we are all facing.
A tale of three people and one romantic relationship
Asked how she would react if someone told her 10 years ago that she would be in a relationship with two men at the same time — with both men knowing about it — Jenny Yuen couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’d say that feels like a far-fetched fantasy,” she said. Yuen, a reporter for the Toronto Sun, has written a book about her experience, Polyamorous: Living and Loving More. She will be at S. Walter Stewart Library for a reading and conversation on Dec. 7.
Zacks Toy Crane (with Plans)
This toy crane is a simple wooden design, meant to be created by small kids with hand tools (except drilling) under close adult supervision. That said my 4yr old is quite good with power tools so we used them. The concept is my sons, I only help create realistic boundaries, and designs that he can make. That said he wanted a 5 meter crane (“top of house”), after some focus groups we settled on 750mm.
Chicago Bulls at Oklahoma City Thunder: Live stream, game info, how to watch
Here’s how you can watch Wednesday’s game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Chicago Bulls. I think it’s safe to say that Russell Westbrook is the leader for the NBA MVP award this season, or at least second to Houston Rockets guard James Harden. While his style of play may be unorthodox and not seen since the days of Oscar Robertson, the triple-double count sure doesn’t lie. The Chicago Bulls’s MVP — Jimmy Butler — is having an unbelievable season, too.
Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat: Outlook for Friday's can't-miss action
After giving up a 10-point lead in the final minutes on Wednesday, the Chicago Bulls will look to right the wrongs of their most recent choke job against the Miami Heat. On Wednesday night, the Atlanta Hawks did something the Chicago Bulls will never do this year: shoot 30 3-pointers in one game, and more importantly, make 17 of them.
Chicago Bulls vs. Memphis Grizzlies: Live Stream, How to Watch
Here’s how you can watch Sunday night’s game between the Chicago Bulls and the Memphis Grizzlies. After the Chicago Bulls went on a three-game slide, due to missing players such as Butler, Nikola Mirotic and Denzel Valentine, they were able to bounce back against the Anthony Davis-led New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. With that much-needed win in the bag, the Bulls now look onto the new-look, grit-and-grind Memphis Grizzlies.
Chicago Bulls vs. New York Knicks Game and Watch Info
Tonight the Chicago Bulls look to bounce back against the New York Knicks in a game that I don’t think anyone with a sane mind could predict the outcome of. The super team vs the Three Alphas. Ladies and gentlemen, your Off-Broadway version of the NBA Finals. If you thought the Chicago Bulls have been in the headlines this year with the whole Rajon Rondo situation, which looks to be coming to an end, the New York Knicks should have their own segment on TMZ.
Chicago Bulls vs. Charlotte Hornets: Game Outlook
On Monday night, the Chicago the Bulls look to equal the season series against Kemba Walker and the Charlotte Hornets after losing the first meeting earlier on in the season,103-91. Am I the only one who is getting deja vu? I could almost swear I felt the same way about last year’s Bulls team I do this year. The season started off with a lot of promise and then nosedived the rest of the season.
Chicago Bulls vs. Washington Wizards: How to watch
After snapping their three-game losing streak the Chicago Bulls will look to find some consistency, something that has eluded them since the start of the Hoiberg era, when they host the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. Tonight, the Bulls take on the 11th-seeded Wizards in a game that I wouldn’t put a dollar on to predict the outcome. After a three-game losing streak the Bulls finally got back in the winners circle on Monday, blowing out the Detroit Pistons 113-82.
Chicago Bulls vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: How to watch
To many basketball fans hearing that the Cavaliers lost the season series against a lottery-destined Chicago team last year 3-1 would be just as weird as thinking the Golden State Warriors could blow a 3-1 lead in the finals. Yet both happened. With vast amount of changes to this new look Bulls side, questions still remain whether or not they can beat top teams in either conference.
Chicago Bulls vs. Los Angeles Lakers: How to watch
Well, it was good while it lasted. As the Bulls four-game winning streak comes to an end a new one may be beginning tonight, with the next four Chicago games against teams who didn’t make the playoffs. However, before we start thinking ahead, the Bulls, and more importantly the Bulls bench, will need to come prepared. They’ll be going against a young, playoff hopeful team in the Los Angeles Lakers, hoping to steal a game off a weary Bulls side playing in the second game of a back-to-back.
Chicago Bulls Week in Review with Ryan: Good, Bad, Ugly from Week 3
Unfortunately, it seems that we still don’t know what to expect each time this Chicago Bulls squad hits the floor. Will they blow the opposition out? Will they themselves be blown out? Or will the Bulls get off to a slow start and quarter by quarter work their way back into the game and eventually win it?
Chicago Bulls at Miami Heat: Game Info and How to Watch
After a close loss to the Atlanta Hawks, the Chicago Bulls will look to defeat the Miami Heat and make Dwyane Wade’s Miami homecoming a memorable one. Will he be booed or will he receive a standing ovation? No one really knows what will happen when Dwyane Wade returns to the city where he spent 13 years and won three championships.
Week In Review with Ryan: The Good, Bad, Ugly from Chicago Bulls in Week 2
The season’s already over. In just week two, the Chicago Bulls’ season is done. “It’s time to tank,” some skeptics will tell you. Others will say they saw this coming when the “Three Alphas” assembled. Whatever your opinion is, I don’t think a three-game losing streak to three teams who are projected to be around the playoff picture is worth freaking out about. Well, at least not yet anyway. Michael Carter-Williams is hurt and the Bulls defense is resembling a turnstile.
Week In Review with Ryan: The Good, Bad and Ugly from Opening Week for Chicago Bulls
Finally, it’s here. No, I’m not talking about Halloween. The NBA and the Chicago Bulls are back, baby. And, what a season its going to be. Between locker room turmoil and pressure on Fred Hoiberg‘s job, I think it’s safe to say there are going to be plenty of storylines revolving around the Bulls this year. Nevertheless, the Bulls seemed to debunk most of this in their season-opening game against the Boston Celtics, winning 105-99.
Chicago Bulls vs. Indiana Pacers Game Outlook: Butler vs. George
After Thursday nights 105-99 win over the Celtics, the underfeated Chicago Bulls will look to extend their standings to 2-0 against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. Hallelujah, basketball is back. Basketball that actually means something. What a way for it to start as well. Jimmy Butler scored 24 points. Dwyane Wade had 22 and Taj Gibson contributed a handy 18 points along with10 rebounds in the Bulls season opener against the men in green.
Bulls Player Outlooks: Denzel Valentine
It’s been a while since the Chicago Bulls made a draft choice that had fans excited. In fact, the most recent exciting pick may ironically be former point guard Derrick Rose. Nevertheless, Denzel Valentine — in some people’s eyes — fell to the Bulls at 14. On the other hand, some feel due to his knee injuries of the past, Valentine was lucky to be drafted as high as he was. What can’t be debated is how well Valentine played in his final year at Michigan State.
Bulls Player Outlooks: Taj Gibson
With the upcoming season quickly approaching let’s take an in depth look at Taj Gibson the Bulls guts and glue guy. For now… Believe it or not, the player most likely to be traded this upcoming season is not playing for the Kings or Clippers. He’s actually playing for our very own Bulls and his name is Taj Gibson. While Gibson’s name has always been tossed around in trade rumors the USC product has always been two things: tough and reliable.
Chicago Bulls Owner Jerry Reinsdorf Enters Basketball Hall of Fame
In the Basketball Hall Of Fame ceremony, all eyes were on Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson and Yao Ming, which makes it understandable why many Bulls fans may not have realized that the franchise’s beloved owner — Jerry Reinsdorf — was inducted into the most prestigious basketball group. He may not be beloved, but he sure is successful. Whether you love or hate Reinsdorf’s approach to ownership, it’s hard to find another owner with his credentials.

Electron and photon triggers covering transverse energies from 5 GeV to several TeV are essential for signal selection in a wide variety of ATLAS physics analyses to study Standard Model processes and to search for new phenomena. Final states including leptons and photons had, for example, an important role in the discovery and measurement of the Higgs particle. Dedicated triggers are also used to collect data for calibration, efficiency and fake rate measurements.
Quick beer tap
The assumption here is that you already have the taps and tubing and that you want a nicer way to pour the perfect beer. With that in mind take your tap, to the local hardware store or a store that suppliers plumbing stuff. Head for the section with the large metal pipe section. You will be looking for 2" pipe connectors of different types. Firstly grab a T section with a 1" out and check that your tap will fit into it. You may need to get bigger washers to secure the tap properly.
Kids Mud Fun aka water interaction play table
This is a super quick project that requires minimal tools and could even be done with hand tools as there isn’t that much wood to cut. We had the electric versions of these tools so it made life a lot easier. It is unclear who loves shopping at the local hardware store Bauhaus more, me or my son. The two of us popped out to get a few pieces of wood and some screws and returned 2 hours later.
