How to Adapt Your Business for the Paradigm Shift
July 31, 2020 6 min read Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Did you feel it? It doesn’t happen often. Did you recognize it? These are pretty rare. Bring It All Together
I can’t be convinced otherwise, it’s my strong belief that it starts the first day of engagement with a potential candidate and continues well beyond he/she decides to move on. If you do it right, that will take years and any amount of investment, both time and money, placed on each human being in your organization is more than worth it and a mere drop in the ocean.
Work From Home (WFH)…The Road Map
For nearly 12 years of my career, I Worked From Home (WFH). For the record, I was in sales and when I wasn’t calling leads relentlessly, following up, booking appointments, all from the comfort of home, I would travel the Upper Midwest for days at a time.
How Do You Judge A Business?
With so many out of work right now, and looking, I think it’s more important than ever that your next employer be the one that is…THE ONE! Historically, the barometer used to judge a successful business has been the traditional financial indicators: Gross / Net Revenue / Operating Profit / Earnings Per Share, etc., and others which signal the overall performance and health of a business. Obviously, and for the most part, they still are.

The influence they have speaks from their work, even when you are unfamiliar with their name. Nowhere is this more evident than in the world of fashion. You might not know whose creation you are wearing right now but it started as the brainchild of a fashion designer somewhere. While some unfortunate ones perish in obscurity, many designers have risen to prominence.

There Is A War Coming, Is Your Business Prepared?
The Numbers: According to the US Dept. of Labor, “In the week ending March 21, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 3,283,000, an increase of 3,001,000 from the previous week’s revised level. CEOWORLD magazine
Family businesses remain a ubiquitous social institution throughout the world. At the same time, few succeed in surviving beyond the 100-year threshold. A version of the adage, “Shirt sleeves to shirt sleeves in three generations,” spans cultures and languages to describe a marked pattern whereby one generation makes the wealth, another wastes it and a third ends up without it. Sustaining shared family wealth after the third generation has proven immensely difficult.
Leadership – The 'How' (The 'WHY' Will Always Be There) > CEOWORLD magazine
I’ve read, seen and heard countless articles and ‘experts’ talk about why there is such a demand for effective leadership in the workplace today. I should know, I’m one of them! And for the record, I agree with all of it. For every piece of literature that I read, however, there is little to go on when it comes to the actual implementation of effective strategies, or the ‘HOW’! The ‘WHY’ will always be there.

Americans are crazy about podcasts. Every week more than 60 million tunes in to one of the thousands of podcasts show available online. The podcast has become a reliable companion for millions as they work, do chores and, perhaps more than anything else, sit in traffic. “(T)he medium has finally come into the mainstream,” commented Tom Webster, senior vice president at Edison Research, which has been tracking podcast use since 2006.

I post and engage on an almost daily basis. It’s changed the way I think about and do business because of the brilliant minds I come across. As of late, however, I’ve been noticing a very disturbing trend. Specifically, in regard to how people have begun to think about competing in business.

Most CEOs have their share of battle scars. They’ve succeeded and they’re failed. I can relate. I’m at an age in my life where I’ve been burned too many times and I no longer want to, nor have the time to waste. That’s why I choose to only do business and work with people I can trust. Recently, a client shared a story that illustrates this so well. He was approached by a Japanese man he has done business with for over a decade about being a part of his new venture, he didn’t hesitate.
The Missing Link: Business, Employees, Clients, And Success
No, I don’t believe in a mythical 7’ tall hairy creature wandering the forests of the Pacific Northwest! The link I’m referring to is between your business, employees, clients, and success!
