Introduction Delayed pressure urticaria (DPU) presents with cutaneous erythema and edema typically manifesting 4-6 hours after a sustained pressure stimulus. In approximately 40% of cases, DPU may co-exist with chronic idiopathic urticaria (CIU), thus masking symptoms. As DPU can severely impact quality of life and treatment is often refractory to antihistamines, recognizing the diagnosis is important to avoid treatment delays.

CIEP typically affects adults, but can rarely affect children with atopy and asthma, in a rapidly progressive manner. We report a case of CIEP in a child with no known atopy or asthma.
