By DERRICK BATTLEdbattle@hickoryrecord.comHUDSON – South Caldwell High has seen plenty of football success in the last decade. But this season — in Sean McMenomy’s first season as head coach — the Spartans encountered a slew of injuries that played a role in a 0-8 start. One thing that has remained constant, though, has been senior running back Tyler Goins, who closes his South Caldwell career on Friday night when the Spartans (2-8, 2-4) play at Watauga (7-3, 5-1) in a Northwestern 3A-4A game.
