1 Introduction Thanks to spacecraft like SOHO and Ulysses, among others, a great deal of progress has been made in solar physics during the last two decades. Scientific initiatives such as the International Heliophysics Year (IHY) and the International Space Weather Initiative (ISWI) have improved and guided the research of the influence of solar events on the terrestrial environment. Then, Space Weather was defined to develop a global approach to understand the Sun-Earth system (Lilensten, 2007).
