What was your first job as a journalist?
Columnist at No apto, when I was 18 years old.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I have not!
How is social media changing news?
My generation particularly are accessing more direct sources of information, and due to social media, news content has changed to video form.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
My first instinct is to say Carrie Bradshaw because of the idealized portrayal of journalism- but I think I can come up with a better answer.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To represent the values of investigative rigor and integrity at every level and step of the process, and adapt to the digitized age.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Briefly, with bullet points!
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Google Docs, Word, Otter.ai, Google Scholar.
What's your favorite social network?
Instagram for creative inspiration and motivation, LinkedIn because it allows be to connect with likeminded people!

Why did you become a journalist?
Because of the opportunities to create engaging and quality informative content for new generations, who read the paper less.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I was Editor-in-Chief at my high school's newspaper. It was through this experience that I decided to pursue journalism as my career.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The one I am currently working on! Cannot disclose any more information than that at the moment!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write! There are myriads of platforms through which you can publish your pieces, and this will make it easier to showcase your work.
When's the best time to pitch you?
First thing in the morning on a Monday- my favorite time of the week.
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee! As a Colombian, there could not possibly be a different answer.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
At the library, working on my dissertation for my masters.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
El País.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That I stick to one field. I am interested in a multitude of topics in my daily life, so that naturally translates to my work.
