Sam Cooper’s Biography

I am a sports writer covering Formula 1, football and tennis for Planet Sport.

I started my journalism career in December 2011 when I set up my own football blog and have since gone on to work for publications like MailOnline, The i, SB Nation, Insider Inc., Yahoo!, Huddersfield Town AFC and Archant. I am NCTJ trained having completed my studies at the Press Association in London where I graduated top of my class in the Sports Journalism unit.

I now work for Planet Sport having started with the PlanetF1.com team in May 2022. I became Audience Editor in April 2024 and in March 2025, I expanded to other sports, working on Football365, Planet Football and Tennis365.

I have attended a number of events and grands prix in my F1 capacity as well as interviewed major stars like Max Verstappen, Toto Wolff and George Russell.
