Web Security 101- From SOP to CORS: Understanding the Web’s Cross‑Origin Security Model
Modern web applications often have multiple subdomains, your frontend hosted at https://app.example.com, API at https://api.example.com, maybe file storage at https://fs.example.com. That architecture is powerful, until you hit the dreaded error: Access to fetch at 'https://api.example.com' from origin 'https://app.example.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.
And then finally, it exploded
Sam TY Leung · Follow 3 min read · -- And everything began to make sense. You, who are reading this. I love you. In the darkest moments, we feel you, the particles of sorrow, anger, grief vibrates and transmits across oceans and seas. Shut your human eyes off, slow down your senses and you too, shall feel. The deep rumble that is full of sadness, that makes up the sounds of inequality, you feel it in the cavity of your chest. But my love, the time of war is not now.
More waves
“Do you think you are an averaage person?” The question my ex husband asked me, mere minutes after I have unmasked the full spectrum of myself, being completely frank in my opinions of him for the first time. “Yes,” my immdiate, knee jerked answer was to lie. “No,” I corrected myself. “But I have always wished I was”, I hastily added. This is a conversation currently replaying in the depths of my skull. I have always wished I was.
And I am ruminating
I’ve legged it. The webbing made up of equal parts concerns, love, obsessions and toxicity. I am out, physically, and apparently in more ways than one. The connection you had wanted to keep to at least work and apartment, no longer exist. I reject this connection, despite it breaking my own heart. This shade of melancholy that made up the walls of my souls’ interior decor over the last few days, is it grief? Is it relief? Is it a shame that I somehow ran with my tail between my legs?

VANCOUVER — Convicted cocaine trafficker Jarrod Bacon has won an appeal of his 2017 parole revocation by arguing that he never should have been released in the first place. The lawyer for the middle gangster brother argued that the Parole Board of Canada had miscalculated Bacon’s statutory release date, letting him out 16 months too early. Most federal prisoners get statutory release after serving two-thirds of their sentence.
