Today, many are sceptical of the truth of the Christmas story. They believe that only what can be known scientifically is true. But science is not the only way to truth; it cannot account for everything. Part of our scientific inquiry is to look for a cause whenever we see an effect. We rationally intuit that everything which begins to exist has a cause, and we now know from modern cosmology that the universe came into existence from nothing at a finite time in the past.
