Karma for Greater Well-Being
For many Americans, karma is a mysterious force in the universe - a tit-for-tat, pseudo-spiritual judge that rewards and punishes us for our behavior. According to our cultural calculus, you must maintain a good "karma score" to ensure a prosperous future. Like any cross-cultural translation, there is naturally a gap between the original concept of "karma" and its adopted meaning in the west.
Creating a Backend API with TypeScript and Express
One of the things I absolutely love about NodeJS is that it allows you to write every part of a full-stack web application in the same language. This gives you a ton of advantages in terms of ease of development, maintainability, and the ability to share code. Today I wanted to talk about creating a back-end API using Express and TypeScript. We're going to create a brand-new NodeJS application and integrate TypeScript and express.
Functional Guards in Angular
When Angular 14 came out, a lot changed with the Angular ecosystem. Now with Angular 16, even more will be changing. With all of these changes, I wanted to talk about one important change particular, functional router guards. Angular 14 deprecated class-based router guards. We can still use them, but they will be going away soon. In Angular, a router guard is a class that you can get to run in between navigation.
Angular 16: Required Inputs
This is a smaller feature than the other ones I've written about, but one that can save you a lot of time. If you're unfamiliar with Angular inputs, it's the basic way you pass data into a component. Let's see a small example.
Component Input Bound to Router
Ok, this was one of the features I was most excited about because I often find myself writing a lot of code to do something very simple: get a router param. What am I talking about? Let's have a look at an example. Let's say we have a web app, and the web app has the option for a router param like this https://myapp.com/contactForm?name=john&email=jdoe@fakemail.com, and passing these parameters would allow us auto-fill in the contact form. How might we accomplish this?
A Preview of Angular 16: Signals
Angular 16 has been in development for some time now. In fact, I wrote about all the features we can expect a couple of weeks ago. We now have a V1 Release Candidate (RC) for Angular 16. So today, I wanted to run through one of the updates in Angular 16: Signals. If you were looking at some other interesting features, don't worry! I'll definitely continue to write about these features in more detail.
Get Excited for Angular 16!
Angular has been putting out @next releases of Angular 16 for about a week now at the time of writing. There are currently two releases, 16.0.0-next.5 and 16.0.0-next.6. I looked through the releases, and some really exciting features are coming our way. This is probably one of the features I'm most looking forward to. You can see a lot more detail in this pull request. So, what is this exactly? It has been described that you can bind component inputs to router information.
Leaving Cobo to continue the Cobo Vault legacy
Keystone: A new hardware wallet company Hi everyone I am Lixin. Former head of hardware at Cobo. I was leading a team developing Cobo’s hardware wallet product line — Cobo Vault. I intended to build Cobo Vault as an ultimate security tool that provides self-custodial solutions against hacks on centralized services essentially to prevent tragedies like the Mt.Gox from ever happening again. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees with this belief necessarily.
