Trainee and subsequently Iran correspondent at Reuters.

More news, much of it good, but also more noise.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Writing the first draft of history. Preferably one not always written by the winners.

Twitter.

Why did you become a journalist?

To tell stories and ease the free flow of information.

No, I came to journalism in my mid-20s.

What's your favorite drink?

Scotch.
