Why did you become a journalist?

To give a voice to the voiceless and to hold those in power to account. Also a sticky beak.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My first story - about Sydney's inner-city homeless - was published during a traineeship and picked up by a major TV network.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Do it because you love it.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Late afternoon/evenings.

Almost every PR pitch.

Espresso martini.

Crime is never 'random'.
