Physalis pubescens (Solanaceae): A New Record for the Flora of Bangladesh

1 Introduction The genus Physalis, is the fifth largest genus of the Solanaceae family and consisting of ca. 92 species (POWO 2026). Many species of this genus have been used as food and natural remedies since long (Mirzaee et al. 2019). As of current circumscription, Physalis is an American genus that has its center of diversity in Mexico, while some species have also been reported to grow in Asia and Europe.
