How is social media changing news?
Verification on social media sites is critically important, and Elon blowing $44B on Twitter and trying to recoup the costs by charging $8 per month for verification (which would have been $20 until Stephen King told him to fuck off) is peak rich guy syndrome. Remember that character from the TV show Monk, Dale the Whale, who "bought entire newspapers to keep his name out of the press"? This is the same idea.
