Sana Jamal’s Biography

Award-winning journalist - skilled in Print and Digital Media - who has worked as a writer, editor, researcher and photographer. During my journalism career, I have covered local, national and international news for various media, winning awards and fellowships along the way. I am a passionate storyteller who enjoys reading, watching movies, photography and baking. Thankful to technology but won’t let it ruin real life experiences.

Currently working as Pakistan Correspondent for Gulf News, covering politics and general news with focus on security, foreign affairs, human rights issues and environment/climate and tourism. I have contributed news, articles, and features for The Straits Times, Pakistan Observer, Tribune International, TVI, IRIA and Global Voices after completing my Master’s degree in Mass Communication in 2010.

In 2015, I founded Islamabad Scene to explore the social and cultural life of Islamabad by covering the latest news, events and trends from the city.
