How is social media changing news?

It's getting harder and harder to figure out what's real and what's not. It's also challenging to find news that is unbiased.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

There are so many, I don't have one!

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Telling your story from your own point of view.

Why did you become a journalist?

I love creative storytelling and wanted a way to express how I saw the world through my own eyes in hopes that others could benefit as well.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I didn't, and now I totally wish I did, as all the cool kids wrote for the paper.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I wrote an article about wellness and interviewed experts in the field. It was a wonderful experience to get different perspectives.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Writing is subjective, not everyone is going to like it and that's OK.

I've had a lot of good ones.

There are no bad pitches

Part of writing about families is that you don't know what it's like until you have your own. Once you know, you know.
