Never give up. You're probably better than you think. Don't expect to ever be rich. Try not to punch anyone.

The tip-off that led me to find the then Prime Minister John Major's sister living in a bedsit and beautifully outspoken.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That we're hard nosed and have no soul. Not the case. Journalists are human too.
