Interview

How is social media changing news?

I think social media has changed news by helping it reach more people, more quickly, and often in a more accessible way. I see it as a complement to traditional journalism, something that can extend the reach of strong reporting rather than replace it.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To me, being a journalist means creating work that is relevant, honest, and grounded in how people actually live. I’m especially committed to serving the 55+ community because, despite its size and influence, it remains underrepresented in today’s media landscape. Too often, coverage misses the reality of what this stage of life looks like today. That is important to me not only professionally, but personally as well, because it reflects my own life and the lives of so many people around me.

What's your favorite social network?

Facebook. It has really stood the test of time, and for the 55+ audience, it is still one of the most active and natural places to connect.

What's your favorite drink?

I know a fun cocktail would be the expected answer, but I’m much more likely to be ordering a chai latte or a hot chocolate. I love trying them from different places and noticing the small differences that make each one feel a little special.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

When I’m not at a computer, I’m usually with family, at home, in the kitchen, or out walking. I also spend a fair amount of time product testing and unwinding with a good movie

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I enjoy reading Real Simple because it does such a strong job of making everyday lifestyle content feel useful and approachable. I’m always drawn to publications that offer practical ideas, smart writing, and content that people can genuinely take into their own lives.
