Giving back to Agile – An experiment | Agile Alliance
Have you noticed that some people “get” Agile more quickly than others? This doesn’t seem to have much to do with seniority, tech/non-tech background, or the type of industry someone works in. At Integral Agile, we’ve been noticing — and acting on — this for years. We’ve recognized that certain individuals possess an innate agility – a blend of servant leadership, systemic thinking, empathy, accountability, playfulness, and a genuine desire to foster growth in others.
Agile2024: An Amazing Program Needs Amazing Reviewers
My first year submitting an agile conference abstract must have been quite an adventure for the review team. Even though there were required fields in the system, I had no clue what each of them meant. My brain was swimming with ideas, but I spent years learning how to format them. While I had friends in the profession willing to mentor me in creating a great abstract, I just didn’t know exactly what a winning submission was. I legit pasted my blog headlines and posts into the form.

A Little Knowledge is a Dangerous Thing
Would you try a new sport that involves risk of injury or harm without some form of guidance, training, or coaching? For most people, the answer is likely to be a very firm “no!” In contrast, organizations and teams new to Agile, or scaling, often adopt a “we’ll try it anyway” approach. The results vary from wasted time to delivery disasters.

Holacracy for Humans
Key Takeaways Holacracy provides radical transparency and timely decision making at the right level. Decision making by consent is awesome! The freedom, autonomy and responsibility to achieve a clear purpose enables self-organisation. Holacracy will amplify the culture that's already in place. It won’t change or improve it. Start by following the rules and mechanics. Once you have mastered them, be guided by principles. Holacracy has potential - much like the early days of agile and Scrum.
