Why did you become a journalist?
Driven by the excitement of discovering something new each day and being able to report it

I was a student editor for the campus newspaper The Fourth Estate, while pursuing masters programme in journalism
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
There are many, in my 21-year career. The articles in the 'Planet Healers of Hyderabad' are among my favourites in recent years
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Abide by the basic tenets of journalism, say no to freebies, read and write diligently to improve your craft.

During the day - 10 am to 5 pm

There are several. The ones that try to push for brand promotions in any circumstance are the worst

Coffee - in the morning

Walking/jogging in the neighbourhood park, or on my yoga mat

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
The common perception is that movie reviewing is a cakewalk. it isn't. Try sitting through substandard films week after week.
