Why is life becoming harder to afford despite economic growth?
23 minutes 9 seconds The cost of everyday life has risen sharply in recent years, leaving many working people struggling to make ends meet. Yet economies have continued to grow and productivity has increased. So why aren’t workers always seeing the benefits in their incomes? Recorded during the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in Bangkok, ILO Chief economist Sangheon Lee explores the low-pay, low-productivity jobs trap and explains why better jobs can themselves help drive economic growth.

Lasting Shocks From The Middle East Crisis: Emerging Risks For The World Of Work
(MENAFN- Caribbean News Global) Beyond its human toll, the Middle East crisis is hitting jobs, incomes, and working conditions worldwide. Early action is critical to protect labour markets, especially for vulnerable workers, small businesses, and low-income households. When conflict erupts, our attention turns first, and rightly, to the immediate human toll: lives lost, homes destroyed and people forced to flee. The suffering caused by the current war in the Middle East is immense.

Controlled charge injection into nitrogen for efficient electrochemical nitrogen reduction based on metal-on-boron compound catalysts
Controlled charge injection into nitrogen for efficient electrochemical nitrogen reduction based on metal-on-boron compound catalysts This theoretical investigation explores sustainable methods for ammonia synthesis by evaluating the effectiveness of dual-atom catalysts composed of transition metals anchored on boron α- and β12-sheet substrates for the electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction.

Energy Landscapes for Lithium Incorporation and Diffusion in Multidomain Silicon Suboxide Anode Materials
In-depth understanding of the lithium interaction characteristics within multidomain silicon suboxide is indispensable for optimizing the electrochemical performance of silicon suboxide anode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
Li3BO3-Li3PO4 Composites for Efficient Buffer Layer of Sulphide-Based All-Solid-State Batteries
Abstract : All-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) based on sulphide electrolytes are promising next-generation energy storage systems because they are expected to have improved safety, increased volumetric energy density, and a wide operating temperature range. However, side reactions at the cathode/electrolyte interface deteriorate the electrochemical performance and limit the commercialization of ASSBs. Surface coating of the cathode is an efficient approach for overcoming this issue.
Creative Labour Regulation: Indeterminacy and Protection in an Uncertain World
In 2011, in a volume of essays on Regulating for Decent Work, Sangheon Lee and Deirdre McCann, as editors, identified the limitations of a deregulatory agenda in terms of the outcomes for labour markets. Yet, if regulation is desirable, and there seems to a growing consensus that this is the case (see Ralf Rogowski, Reflexive Labour Law in the World Society (Cheltenham: Edward Elgar, 2013)), the question remains as to how such interventions might be crafted in order to achieve optimal results.
