Test Strategies During Agile Transformation | @DevOpsSummit #Agile #DigitalTransformation
Speed has always been a major challenge in software development, as waterfall projects took up a significant amount of time to carry out due to lengthy operational and manual processes. Under this setup, you could expect your initiative to take months or even years to reach completion. In the mobile environment, this type of drawn out schedule is no longer feasible, especially when it comes to fixing issues and quickly addressing emerging user requirements.

Quality assurance is becoming an important part of the development effort, which is why more organizations are focusing on building up these groups and acquiring the best individuals for the job. However, the question remains, when is a team too small or too large? What types of advantages and disadvantages may be present within these cases? Size has a major impact on how effective a QA management team can be and what types of projects they are able to support.
Building a Team with Complementary Testing Skills
Most testing work requires multiple roles: The subject matter expert, the tool-smith, the analyst, a leader, and so on. James Bach, perhaps the most well-known tester in North America, once identified seven types of software testers, and those are just around activities, and do not address type or project or technology! At the beginning of my career we would have a 'test team' that could cover all these disciplines.
Organizing the Test Team
Twenty years ago, when software shipped in boxes, there was a standard organization for software groups: a development organization, a test organization, and a documentation organization, each of roughly the same size. We've come a long way since those days, separating management work from product ownership, including analysts, creating usability and user experience roles and downplaying the role of the documentation.
Three Things About DevOps | @DevOpsSummit #DevOps #APM #Microservices
There’s No C in DevOps, But There Should Be These days I mostly make my living as a consultant. Consultants in general are probably not the best loved group in the world. It is common to think of consultants wafting-in to your organization, telling you things that you already know and advising you to “change your culture”, whatever that means. Subsequently they depart, no-doubt with a fat fee, and leave you as you were before with the same ... These days I mostly make my living as a consultant.

Latest Articles As It Happens At the Center of Your Digital Architecture Instead of thinking of the IT environment as being divided into apps, middleware, data, servers, or other IT-centric concepts, the entire enterprise must think about customer journeys and how the various customer interactions (‘moments’ in the vernacular) string together to provide the customer experience each customer desires. The end result, of course, is maximizing the business key performanc...

Select rating Give it 1/5 Give it 2/5 Give it 3/5 Give it 4/5 Give it 5/5 The goal of any tech business worth its salt is to provide the best product or service to its clients in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. This is just as true in the development of software products as it is in other product design services. Microservices, an app architecture style that leans mostly on independent, self-contained programs, are quickly becoming the new norm, so to speak.

Latest Articles As It Happens Test automation is arguably the most important innovation to the process of QA testing in software development. As software continues to be developed for new platforms – including mobile devices and the diverse array of endpoints that ...
Why Agile Fails in Large Enterprises
Agile software development has proven to be a major benefit to various teams, but it can affect businesses differently depending on their size and how they integrate the methodology into their operations.
