What does it mean to be a journalist?

Be relentlessly curious and intellectually rigorous. Be fair. Go deep. Expose corruption & injustice. Tell a good story. Report on solutions.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

The usual suspects: Slack, Twitter, the full Google suite, Trello, Pocket, Facebook, Instagram, SoundCloud. And, of course, GroundSource!

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes! I was a reporter. My first assignment was to write about how students decorated the insides of their lockers. I took it very seriously.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Exposing the death sentences handed to people with mental impairment when mentally able co-defendants got lighter sentences or went free.
