Sara Collins’s Biography

I serve as director of communications for Charlotte Works, the workforce development board for Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, N.C. We serve job-seekers and businesses, providing resources to develop a skilled workforce that meets employer needs.

If you’re looking for a source for stories about the workforce system nationally or in North Carolina, I can connect you with our president and CEO, Steve Partridge, who is well-known in workforce development circles for his innovative approach to improving the system, particularly for employers.

He’s co-chaired the U.S. Conference of Mayor’s Workforce Development Council’s Public Policy Committee, testified before Congress about the reauthorization of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (created the current national workforce system) and was closely involved in the bipartisan passage of the Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (updates the WIA) in summer 2014.

If you need tips and tricks for job-seekers, any of our career coaches will be happy to work within your deadline to provide those.

If you’re seeking workforce advice for an employer audience, our employer engagement team stands ready to help.
