The Phoenix is one of the most powerful cosmic beings in Marvel Comics, able to destroy stars and generate destructive power on a scale that's hard to imagine. I’m currently… resisting. So much. It’s funny how sometimes the hardest work you do is the stuff that can’t be seen. sleeping well. I could really get used to this.
The Tuesday Currents
I’m currently… trying to do the opposite of everything I’m doing. Seriously, changes must be made. And as much as I want to write more lately, walking more is more important–and I’m not so great at typing at my standing desk. Things I Love Thursday
Some things I’m loving right now are… Molly doing well on her medicine! She had to go to the vet and it scared the noodles out of me, but her meds are helping and she’s doing great. Her meds were going down great, too, until she spit them out last night and her sister ate them. Cheese is out; peanut butter is in. Easter chicks with bows holding knives and baskets shaped like skulls and Baphomet awesome activities and opportunities for teens good sleeps.

The Tuesday Currents
I’m currently… writing letters to my pain. I tend to call it “brah” a lot so far. It’s absolutely ludicrous. And helpful. Today I accused it of having cactus envy. reading All The Books. I promised myself I would while off this Monday since Indy has to work most of my day off. Staying on my schedule while my family sleeps and stealing naps in between time with them isn’t easy or enjoyable. My favorites were Starfish, which would have been incredible for me to read as a kid, and Sheets.

Things I Love Thursday

The Tuesday Currents

That makes 83 hours for the year so far. trying to spend time with my family on their schedules, which makes me more tired on my own coping with the aforementioned tiredness by trying to keep my monkey brain occupied with stickers, trivia videos, and new-to-me playlists considering a good, long tech break. Things I Love Thursday
It’s something I say a few times a year, and I know it’s still true: the times I’m feeling less grateful are the times when writing this list seems to be the most helpful and important.
The Tuesday Currents
Tomorrow is March, and it feels like February just arrived not only because it passed quickly, but because I was in a haze of The Big Sad the whole time. Sleep helps when I can get it, which tends to be once or twice a week since Indy’s working while I’m sleeping and vice versa again. Folks are looking forward to spring, and I’m happy for y’all… but I sure miss the winter it feels like never came.
The Tuesday Currents
I’m currently… enjoying a long weekend while simultaneously NOT enjoying Zuul’s lunar possession, which is a full takeover for a couple of days …and feeling thankful for The Blood Towel reading a bunch of graphic novels, Killing the Black Body, When the Body Says No, Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute, The Heart Principle watching Three Thousand Years of Longing, Odd Thomas, Beauty Shop, Shotgun Wedding, Wakanda Forever, and Slumberland.
The Tuesday Currents
I’m currently… handling Indy’s opposite schedule to mine as best as we can. Cannot wait until he’s back on the same schedule. In the meantime, we’re trying to find the silver lining. mixing Lily’s chocolate into peanut butter and thinking of GM contemplating painting my Venus of Willendorf minifig, which I think about almost daily yet never make time to do. Ditto for at least a dozen other projects. decluttering reading a bunch of graphic novels.
Justice for Tyre
Tyre Nichols should be here today. Here are some words from BLM Memphis, as well as a link where you can give support to Tyre’s family. “The video of the savage beating of #TyreNichols is expected to be released today. We at Decarcerate Memphis and Fam are holding our city in light. We also demand that all law enforcement tasks forces dissolve and stop holding our city hostage.
The Tuesday Currents
Is anyone else jumping ahead or thinking it’s still January 10 every day? What even is this time loop? Other than that, right now I’m… celebrating lower blood pressure and other improving numbers. I’m crediting most of it to sleep. watching Everything Everywhere All at Once (YES!!) and Bros (which was cute). Can we have 900 projects featuring Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan next? I love them together so much.
Reparations Friday

The Tuesday Currents
I’m currently… still forgetting what day it is. Easy to do in the new year and extra easy on the night shift! wondering why Spotify is suggesting a bunch of classical music and TV theme songs to me this week. My Discover Weekly is always bizarre but this might be one of the weirder ones. listening to the mixes I’ve made with my family. Also bizarre at times. going to the rec center again. We were the only masked folks, at least that I could see.

Things I Love Thursday
This week I’m loving… playing Codenames with my family our annual LOTR marathon having a kitten in the house the aid and support of people for one another Astrid’s All the Black Cats. I have a tiny sample and will make it last because I’m head over feet in love with it. . I’m so obsessed. It’s delightful. I love how Klune can create a scene with only a few words, and his tension! Gah. It’s lovely. Indy and I are reading it aloud together and I love sharing looks with him as we read. getting rest.
Bloganuary Day 5
Today is my dad’s birthday! Happy birthday, Dad! And today’s prompt is, “What brings you joy in life?” Someone like me who worries and overthinks even during the most joyous, connected moments in life often finds joy in the tiniest of things. Those are the moments when I’m able to really mindfully experience that joy and be deeply moved by it.
Bloganuary Day 4
January 4th’s prompt is, “What is a treasure that’s been lost?” The first thing that comes to mind is privacy, which is probably a little ironic for bloggers, writers, and other regular sharers online like me. I miss being able to go anywhere without a dozen phones out taking photos all around me, and everything from Google Maps to oversharing on social media just makes me sad. It almost feels like keeping any morsel of detail about yourself TO yourself is a decadent luxury lately.
Bloguary Day 3
Prompt: What is the earliest memory you have? My earliest memory is a traumatic one, so instead I’ll share some favorite early memories: drawing on my Grandmother’s Scrabble box lid, under her table (on the table itself), and on little booklets we made together. We loved to make stories about veterinarians and people camping GM making me tiny cups of coffee (mostly milk) to share with her climbing in bed next to GM and watching TV or reading with her.
The Tuesday Currents
Welcome to the first Tuesday of 2023! What are you up to? I’m currently… navigating All The Schedule Changes! OMG. In every aspect of life I feel like I’m just swimming in whiteout. listening to the House on the Cerulean Sea playlist someone made on Spotify (and absolutely loving the book) reading a bunch of comics getting organized for the year taking in my parents’ kitten for a while, possibly furrever! She’s just too much for their older pets to handle.
Bloganuary Day 2
Day 2’s prompt is, “How are you brave?” Navigating the world in a disabled body is brave (and shouldn’t have to be), but I also choose to be brave in my work each day. As an anxious person who once had to write scripts to make phone calls, I’m so grateful for my advocacy training and the work I get to do via the phone every day. I’m still nervous on each call. I still take a breath before answering. Then I just do my best. That’s brave to me. How are you brave?
Bloganuary Day 1
Today’s prompt is, “What is something you want to achieve this year?” Out of my big list of things I’d like to achieve in 2023, I think scaling back is one of my highest priorities. The days that aren’t planned tend to be my favorite days with my family. Declutter, destress, rest, and just vibe? Sounds dreamy. I’d also love to grow my hair back, after which I’ll only want to chop it all off again. This is The Way. How about you? Like this: Like Loading... Related

Things I Love Thursday
Writing a list of things that you love seems to be the most helpful on difficult days. Today’s one of those days, so I’m going to attempt a list. Lately, I’m loving… writing on a couple of projects the help of our interim 4-H youth supporter soft pants that reach my ankles–no more, no less. It seems that most of my pants do one or the other instead. time off with my family. I seem to be spending most of the time I’m off catching up on sleep, but this weekend I had a difficult time doing even that.

The Tuesday Currents
The weekly Currents have been postponed while I’m sick! Our whole house has been through rhinovirus during the past two weeks.
The Tuesday Currents
One more day until September! As usual, we’re a little more overextended than I would like, and I’m looking around my house to see where I actually want to add Halloween stuff since we have a lot out year-round now. Our yard, which was overcome with gourds all summer, has just been hacked up and cleared (save for two rows of pumpkins), so now we have over 30 little gourds to decorate with and give to loved ones! What are you up to this week?
The Tuesday Currents
This draft is over a week old. That’s how busy we’ve already been this August! Normally we clear out the first week of the month to do our annual GISH scavenger hunt, and it often fills much more quickly than we mean it to fill, but this year we only did a few items due to time constraints.
Sunday Action Alerts
Choose any or all to plug into. Buy a binder and donate it to your local LGBTQIA or trans mutual aid center. You can also take place in GC2B’s donation program. Follow Reproaction on Twitter and take part in Friday’s Twitter Storm. Tell Congress to pass paid leave and abortion rights with Moms Rising.
Take Action This Weekend
Where are you protesting, boycotting, canvassing or otherwise taking action this weekend? Here are some quick ideas. Call any business that features signs of anti-abortion candidates on their property. Let them know you won’t be using their business anymore. Call on the candidates you support to actually SAY abortion. Bust the stigma. Fight for full-on abortion support. No more of this “Well I wouldn’t have one, BUT…” bull.
Supreme Court Ruling
I don’t have a lot to say. I’m grieving and raging. I do want to remind folks that Roe never gave the protection it should have. Abortion rights have been restricted in as many states as they’re now illegal in for a long time. In MO, people have had to travel to IL to get them, for example. People of color, poor folks, folks with marginalized identities, trans people, folks with disabilities… Roe has never given enough protection and it’s always been difficult for so many people to get an abortion.
The Tuesday Currents

We went to the splash park, the Lego minifig store, a nature center, and ice cream this week. yardwork binge-watching Stranger Things with my family. Easily the best day in a long time, especially with our little breaks, snacks, and discussions in between episodes.
Reparations Friday
πIt’s Friday! Reparations Day!π I wanted to write a post listing some reasons to give reparations and should not have googled what others have already written. π¦ I’d like to issue a cw for some violent racism if you look it up yourself. So here are some reasons to give reparations: 1. If you’re an abolitionist, you know abolition is about changing everything, including ourselves.

Things I Love Thursday
Every March, I love going past these two houses down the street that have beautiful pink magnolia trees in their front yards. The blooms only last a couple weeks but wow, do they add a soft beauty to the neighborhood! They represent the quick loveliness that is March. How can there only be a week left in the month? Some things I’m loving this week are… those mesmerizing magnolias looking at old 80s commercials with Wood Sprite as we A. study propaganda techniques and B.
