Chirality-controlled synthesis of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) is one of the most sought-after goals in the field of carbon nanotube (CNT) synthesis. To date, nearly single-chirality synthesis (over 90% purity) has been realized only for two kinds of chiralities among over 180 types of SWNTs, 97% (14,4) CNT with W6Co7, (1) (1) 92% (12,6) CNT with W6Co7, (2) (2) and 90% (12,6) CNT with the Mo2C catalyst.
