Sea Ray 510 Fly to Maritimo
Discussion in 'General Yachting Discussion' started by Scott Felstad, . Love my 2017 Sea Ray 510 fly with 8.3 Cummins and pods. Have taken from Jacksonville to Bahamas, Hilton Head and St Augustine many times. This Sea Ray is a solid sea boat and Cummins are solid. May look at new M50 Maritomo at Lauderdale Show, Any candid advice from you experienced Captains? Much appreciated. Your name or email address: Do you already have an account? Owner/ Operator opinion?
Under 60 it will be pretty rare for owners not run their own boats except for occasional long trips or parties when the owner what to enjoy the fun. And anything under 60/65 is going to be a bit cramped to have a captain. above 60, say up to 80 I d say half the boats will still be owner operated. Above that it will be pretty rare. I know a retired couple who cruise a 96 Lazzara on their own and spend months in the Bahamas. He is very experienced though and considers maintaining his boat therapy.
Manhattan 68 vs Galeon 640

Scott. You've made your point. Two Sunseekers have had fires. Saying they've "caught fire" is only really the case for one. One had a fire aboard and had about $100,000 damage per the broker who has it listed. The other burned completely.
Galeon yachts the good and the bad? Your thoughts please!
SJB said: ↑ Now that Searay is not making big boats (50plus), I am seeking information on Galeon Yachts as one option (I would much prefer a Riv or Viking or Princess but to pricey for me). Anyone have any input on the 50 or 55 Galeon? Click to expand... I would just mention one thing. You mentioned Searay and Galeon. I hope you're not confining your shopping to Marine Max. There are plenty of other brands out there to be looked at.
