What was your first job as a journalist?

A staff reporter with the South Shore Standard in Five Towns, Long Island.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, as a child. Also had a word processor during the early 90's.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Rita Skeeter, although for all the wrong reasons.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Final Cut Pro, Google Chrome, Methode, my HTC One M8.

What's your favorite social network?

Facebook.

Why did you become a journalist?

I've always had an interest in knowing things first and telling everyone what went on. It just seemed natural.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Don't get caught up in the rush of the 24-hour news cycle - good reporting always beats out those who report fast and sloppy.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime.
