Who planted them seeds?
Now, if we are to recognise that shame is an exterior thing, it is both natural and instructive to then ask: who planted them seeds? I ask this question not at all as part of the process of discarding shame, as some have suggested is the best course of action. Strategies for caring for our community during Invasion season
Invasion Day, ‘Australia’ day or Survival Day, no matter which way to you choose to acknowledge 26 January, there is no denying the impact this day has on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. White Australia needs to change itself for racism to be fixed. It’ll require mega-shifts in power that they may not be ready for.

When you think about it, and then look it up on Google, you realise that Australia’s only really got a couple of holidays that aren’t religion-based or coincide with the local show.
