"Instead of being 80% UFO and 20% on foot, we flipped it": How Destroy All Humans' sci-fi action oddity conquered all
"It was significant because of the angle on it," says animator Lachlan Creagh. "It was a funny game – really offbeat and quite different to things that were around at the time. Grand Theft Auto came out just before we were really making Destroy All Humans and then the publishers all wanted to have stuff like that, that was dark and gritty." My Own Versed Frenemy
Intro from Transom: Producer Sean Cole has been working in radio since 1997, much of that time at This American Life. He knows the formula it takes to make a really good audio story. But he’s also a poet — working in an art form that celebrates the abstract rather than tries to solve for it the way audio storytelling often must. In this new piece for Transom, Cole lays out “the battle between radio journalism and poetry” that rages within him, and how the former can let a bit of the latter in.

John Owen on PROVISIONISM on Apple Podcasts
A few weeks ago, Dr. Sean Cole was reading Volume 10 of the Works of John Owen and his essay called "A Display of Arminianism." In Chapter 13 on the issue of free will, Sean was surprised to find that the problems Owen identified with the Arminians of his day are the key tenets of modern day Provisionism. Owen interacts with these views and they are eerily similar to what Leighton Flowers and others believe about the nature of man and the nature of grace.

How my month as a cheerleader convinced me cheer is a sport
Westminster College Spirit team performing their routine on the beach stage. Sean Distance spent a month on the team and said it deserves to be called a sport because of the rigor of training and competition. (Photo courtesy Westminster Spirit Team) I have played basketball, football, soccer, baseball and even did a bit of karate, however, cheer is the only sport where I’ve been kicked in the face.

Although liquor is legally allowed on campus and at authorized, college-sponsored events, the Westminster College community seems unclear whether this makes Westminster a ‘wet campus.’ A graph showing the results of a survey conducted by The Forum to gauge the students perception of Alcohol on Westminster’s campus. Professor Zarkin said she thinks students are confused on what the term ‘wet campus’ means and do not realize the college has strict restrictions on alcohol consumption.
Call NOW! - Life of the Law
I have always been so impressed by lawyer commercials on TV, and by impressed I mean…totally confused. I’m always like, “Who told you that disaster footage or wooden readings from cue cards or your cousin wearing a judge’s robe would be a great way to represent your law practice?” But then I stumbled into the engine room of lawyer advertising regulation. And learned about the silent era before these ads were even allowed. And the Big Bang after which they couldn’t be contained.
