What was your first job as a journalist?
Staff Reporter at The Oakland Post. Oakland University's independent, student run newspaper.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No, but I really want one.
How is social media changing news?
News does not need to be released a certain time. Breaking news is truly breaking because it can be released while it is happening.

Will Mcavoy
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be the voice of the people. To be unbiased and truthful and the worlds storyteller.
Who do you wish followed you?
Editors of major news publications, who genuinely enjoy my work and would like me in their newsroom.
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I am curious as about everything and like to ask questions and I want to tell stories. Journalism lets me do both.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
A profile on a man with a very long beard.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
As an aspiring journalist myself, the best advice I can give is to be curious, write well and get involved.
