What was your first job as a journalist?

Hosting the Pasadena Christmas Parade in college, I was able to work alongside radio personalities I grew up listening to. A dream come true.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes and as a chronic re-writer , we never got along too well.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It’s an honor to be able to document the events and stories of “now” for later generations to read and discover.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Im a big fan of organization! If press releases are informative and organized I am more inclined to write about the topic at hand.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I mainly work on Adobe, Google Drive, and Canva. They all keep me organized and creative in their own way.

When's the best time to pitch you?

I’m a morning person, go out and get the worm.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I love Pitchfork. They have an amazing staff who write great long form stories (my favorite kind).
