Have you ever used a typewriter?

Although there were computer labs at Northwestern when I arrived on campus, I did use typewriters in my freshman newswriting lab at Medill.

Fletch, Hildy Johnson, Nash Hansen

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Laptop, iPhone, brain

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter. Hands down.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I was the editor-in-chief of the Hellgate Lance in Missoula, Montana, and also wrote an editorial column.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Spending a year telling the story of Groupon's meteoric rise is a career highlight.
