Dear Editor, We read with interest the article by Yi et al., who evaluated machine-learning models for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk prediction in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and concluded that models without vibration-controlled transient elastography (VCTE) may provide effective risk stratification, particularly in CHB-endemic or resource-limited settings [1]. The study provides external validation and reports favorable discrimination and calibration.
