Seth Tupper’s Biography

I bring a lifetime of South Dakota-based experience to my job covering the people, politics and environment of the Mount Rushmore State.

I grew up in the small towns of Wessington Springs and Kimball, earned my journalism degree from South Dakota State University and spent 11 years at The Daily Republic in Mitchell before moving to the Rapid City Journal in 2014.

My journalism honors include the 2007 Outstanding Young Journalist award from the South Dakota Newspaper Association and the 2014 National Public Notice Journalism Award from the Public Notice Resource Center.
