Shafaat Pirani’s Biography
Dr. Shafaat Pirani is a board-certified Geriatric Pharmacist who also holds certifications as a Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Specialist through the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and a teaching certification from the University of South Florida. He serves as courtesy faculty at both the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and the University of South Florida Taneja College of Pharmacy, where he continues to mentor future pharmacists and contribute to advancing pharmacy education.
Shafaat Bahram Pirani has been inducted into Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS), the national pharmacy leadership society, and holds memberships in APhA, NCPA, NASP, NCPDP, and the Florida Pharmacists Association (FPA). These affiliations reflect his commitment to leadership and advocacy within the profession, supporting independent pharmacists and helping shape policies that advance patient access to medications while promoting best practices across pharmacy operations and clinical care.
Dr. Pirani is also an innovator, holding a Provisional Patent for “Method and Apparatus for Prescription Delivery,” a platform designed to enhance transparency, access, and adherence to prescription medication use. His career experience spans multiple areas, including pharmacy leadership, digital product strategy, pharmaceutical supply chain management, hub and mail-order pharmacy operations, telemedicine, clinical workflow optimization, and regulatory compliance, positioning him as a versatile leader in healthcare.
Currently, Dr. Pirani serves as Chief Clinical Officer of Wellgistics Health (NASDAQ: WGRX), a Tampa-based next-generation pharmaceutical distributor specializing in digital prescription routing and AI-powered hub fulfillment. His leadership role centers on driving digital innovation to create interoperable healthcare solutions that empower independent pharmacies while enhancing patient prescription access. He has also played a critical role in supporting the company’s evolution into a publicly traded enterprise.
Before joining Wellgistics, Dr. Pirani was Chief Clinical and Regulatory Compliance Officer for Bonum Health and TRxADE Health (NASDAQ: MEDS). His work focused on developing compliant and scalable digital health platforms that improved patient outcomes while expanding pharmacy programs nationwide. His efforts emphasized sustainability, compliance, and accessibility, helping build stronger B2B2C healthcare models that bridged the gap between patients, providers, and pharmacies.
Shafaat Pirani, Florida’s prior roles include Executive Vice President at Alliance Pharma Solutions (DelivMeds) and Director of Operations for a national mail order pharmacy, where he expanded services to all 50 states, achieved VIPPS and URAC reaccreditation, and introduced innovative programs to reduce costs and streamline workflows. Alongside his professional work, he has served as a preceptor for pharmacy students at clinics and universities and continues to support community health and education through philanthropy.
