Shane Murphy

I am a soon-to-be-graduated senior at the University of Nevada, Reno. For my very last journalism class for the Reynolds School of Journalism, which was a professional internship, I created a portfolio of my work. I interned at the Record-Courier in Gardnerville, NV which could be considered a small town newspaper. It was an interesting experience for me because my emphasis was integrated marketing communications and I never really took to news and reporting in school. Overall, it has been a very insightful experience and it definitely took me out of my comfort zone which I believe is important.
