Shane Schaffer’s Biography

Shane Schaffer is the Co-founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Cingulate Therapeutics, a Phase 3 clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas. This enterprise focuses on developing several branded next-generation pharmaceutical products, mainly targeting Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, and insomnia.

With 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, he specializes in drug development and commercialization. His expertise is reflected in his adept handling of product launches, brand planning, joint venture brand management, life cycle management, and market development, establishing him as a notable figure in biopharmaceutical and marketing.

He earned his doctoral degree in Pharmacy from the University of Kansas in 1999 and subsequently completed a postdoctoral pharmaceutical industry fellowship at Rutgers University's College of Pharmacy. During this time, he worked at Pfizer Worldwide Marketing and Morris Plains, where he played a key role in developing pre-launch strategies and enhancing internal communications.

His career at Pfizer began in New York, where he served as a Marketing Manager, and later at Morris Plains in New Jersey, where he assumed roles as Project Manager and External Research Manager. In these capacities, he led advanced sales training, managed product launches, and supervised Phase IV Medical Research for all marketed brands.

Throughout his career, he held multiple leadership positions at Pfizer, Novartis, and Sanofi, where he developed and commercialized several billion-dollar brands. At Novartis, he managed the Ritalin® LA and Focalin™ segments, launching Ritalin® LA with exceptional budget attainment and rapidly building product awareness. His successful management of multiple product launches earned him several awards, including the Novartis Business Excellence Award.

Following his tenure at Novartis, he continued his impactful work at Sanofi, leading initiatives during the company's merger and joint venture phases and significantly contributing to the success of brands like Avapro and Avalide. His leadership in marketing and strategy execution was recognized with multiple Sanofi Star Awards.

In 2008, he joined M|C Communications LLC in Boston as a Consultant, leading the development of business opportunities for over a dozen primary pharmaceutical targets. He founded Sabre Scientific Solutions, LLC in July 2009, providing essential consulting services in commercials, clinical strategies, product launches, and leadership.

In January 2013, his enduring passion for addressing ADHD led to the establishment of Cingulate Therapeutics LLC. Under his guidance, the company has focused on innovating drug delivery technologies for ADHD and anxiety disorders. Cingulate recently partnered with Indegene to market its phase-3 oral ADHD medication, CTx-1301, with plans to submit a new drug application to the FDA by mid-2025.

Beyond his professional life, Shane Schaffer is actively involved in philanthropy, notably supporting the Folds of Honor Charity, which provides scholarships to children of fallen or disabled military personnel. His leadership not only advances healthcare innovation but also profoundly impacts community welfare.
