Delmus Benton Adams Jr., affectionately known as “Feller”, age 88, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on January 18, 2025. He was born in Gainesville, Georgia, on June 1, 1936, to the late Delmus Benton Adams and the late Lois Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Pauline Louderback, Kate Woody, and Roger Adams.

James Braxton Purdy, age 79 of Alto, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 18, 2025. A lifelong native of Alto, Georgia, he was born on April 26, 1945, a son of the late Willie Braxton “Brac” & Monteen Roberts Purdy. James was a graduate of South Habersham High School, Class of 1963. He was currently employed as a custodian with Habersham County Schools. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, yard sales, estate sales, tinkering with old cars, and small engine repairs.

Saturday Fire Results In Fatality

(Cleveland) —A residential fire late Saturday resulted in a fatality. White County 911 Communications received reports of a residential fire in the area of Tom Bell Road and McGee Drive at 5:52 PM. Bryce Barrett, White County Public Safety Spokesperson said White County Fire Services, supported through automatic aid by Cleveland Fire Department and Helen Fire Department, responded to the scene along with the White County Sheriff’s Office.
