Sharon Shee Min Foo’s Biography
Sharon Foo is the China Energy Correspondent at Upstream, an oil and gas–focused publication under the Norwegian media conglomerate DN Media Group. Based in Singapore, she reports on China's energy sector, particularly the oil and gas industry and its transition to cleaner energy, as well as energy-related developments across Asia. She is fluent in Mandarin, English, and Malay.
Prior to this, she was a Senior Journalist at Sin Chew Daily, Malaysia’s leading mainstream Mandarin-language newspaper. Over six years, she covered breaking news and features on Malaysian politics, public and foreign policy, economic and trade issues, as well as ASEAN and geopolitical affairs. She has interviewed ambassadors, policymakers, and international experts, and her award-winning reporting includes investigations into human trafficking and cross-border job scams.
